ABC News: Police: Man Robs Bank to Be 'Supported'
MANCHESTER, N.H. Sep 6, 2006 (AP)— Police said Gaetan Roy had just lost his job, so he came up with a plan: Rob a bank, hang around, then get taken to jail to be "supported." Roy has been charged with robbing a St. Mary's Bank. Police said he walked into the bank Friday and handed a note to the teller that said: "This is a robbery. Put all the cash into the plastic bag. No hassles, no problems."
it would be funny if he didnt get enough money to go to jail, or if he didnt use a weapon, so its not "armed robbery" and then he just got fined but not alot of jail time

Wasn’t there a book about that? A guy trying desperately to get arrested so he wouldn’t have to sleep outside for the winter and failing miserably every time. Then he finally decides to turn his life around and gets arrested for loitering or something stupid.
