to buy happiness
Scientists calculate how much money it costs to buy happiness | the Daily Mail
Marriage increases happiness levels by the same amount as earning an extra £54,000 a year, although, surprisingly, living together was worth more, at an extra £82,500. Meanwhile, chatting to your neighbours on a regular basis would make you as happy as getting a £40,000-a-year pay boost.
I have a full time job now, and I could definatly “afford” to live by myself, but I love having roommates. This weekend I would not have gotten up and gone hiking at Stony Brook on my own accord, but Kevin and Josh were going so what the heck, Brian and I went as well and it was a blast. We cook for each other, just chat, whatever, I can see as just having friends for roommates drastically improving your quality of life. (all the while saving you $$$)
