Take Action: Fight Hate Crimes
One in six hate crimes are motivated by the victim’s sexual orientation. Yet Federal laws don’t protect these people. Watch the video. Then tell your Senators to support the Matthew Shepard Act.
Apparently I am on an activism kick, but a worthy cause is a worthy cause and these worthy causes need you to tell your senator you support them.

if its a mugging because the person looks like they have money, then its not a hate crime.

no matter where you stand on the “aren’t all crimes ‘crimes of hate’” debate, i think that as long as there are defined laws like “attacking someone solely because they are black makes it a hate crime” then there needs to be “attacking someone solely because they are gay is a hate crime”
