22 Pop

22pop_inspiration

Awesome idea, extremely lame name, implementation and website design.

Its a typewriter that e-mails what you type.

22 Pop (‘22’ because of the Olivetti typewriter classic, Lettera 22 it is modeled on; ‘pop’ as a reference to the email protocol used)

POP is for receiving mail, not sending it; I guess “22 SMTP” doesn’t sound as nice though.

The website is trying to be all artsy and crap, but it just comes off as ugly to me

Also, it only sends e-mail via a modem, it does not receive it.  That would be an awesome project, especially for say, a mildly electronic typewriter that you could send, and receive e-mail with.

One Response to “22 Pop”

  • If it only sends and doesn’t receive e-mail then its functionally useless anyway. And frankly if people are too stupid to figure out word processing on a computer then they’re too functionally stupid to be allowed to own a computer.
