Having Solved All Other Crime
Cities cracking down on saggy pants - Yahoo! NewsProposals to ban saggy pants are starting to ride up in several places. At the extreme end, wearing pants low enough to show boxers or bare buttocks in one small Louisiana town means six months in jail and a $500 fine. A crackdown also is being pushed in Atlanta. And in Trenton, getting caught with your pants down may soon result in not only a fine, but a city worker assessing where your life is headed.
The bare-your-britches fashion is believed to have started in prisons, where inmates aren’t given belts with their baggy uniform pants to prevent hangings and beatings. By the late 80s, the trend had made it to gangster rap videos, then went on to skateboarders in the suburbs and high school hallways.
Wow, talk about a lawsuit waiting to happen. Do they even think before they start making proposals?

These people are funny. They say the don’t want to see their backside, hahaha. Have they considered passing laws to ban ladies who wear very short skirts, or has pants that are below their waistlines showing their pants, better still, ladies wearing dresses so short that it shows their bellies in public? They can all be considered inappropriate. Why are they talking about only the guys who in most cases have wear boxers.

Our jails are already overcrowded with people who probably shouldn’t be there to begin with. Now this. Another stupid law. What happened to less government? What’s next? Outlawing bumper stickers that people don’t agree with. Outlawing t-shirts with messages that people don’t like. I don’t particularly care for the baggy pants look, but I believe that we have more pressing matters then wasting our time trying to prosecute stupidity.

Boo-ya to typical American WASP value systems… the desire for asthetic pleasure- the velue that others are beneath you based on how they look- the containment of opinions you don’t like, styles you don’t identify with.. small, insignicant things like attire, manners, grammar, can all be blown out of proportion by hateful individuals who are fed up because they don’t want to have to live in, look at, or smell the pile of garbage they’re turning this nation into… and they haven’t a clue what to do about it because, let’s face it, it’s not their priority. Nothing offends me more than a short sleeve knit polo and white shorts… so who’s with me… let’s stick it to em all!

Did these people ever watch FootLoose? I have 2 sons, one who already went through this craze a number of years back and has since outgrown it, and another who has just entered the teen years where young people need to express themselves. It’s a faze - but telling them they can’t will make them want to even more.
