You are listening too Loudly!
BBC NEWS | UK | Scotland | Edinburgh, East and Fife | Kwik-Fit sued over staff radios
The PRS claimed that Kwik-Fit mechanics routinely use personal radios while working at service centres across the UK and that music, protected by copyright, could be heard by colleagues and customers.
Apparently listening to the radio qualifies as a “performance” and therefore if you listen too loud you can be sued for copyright infringement. Seems a bit ridiculous to me. Do gas stations really pay radio stations that they play over the speakers? They are pumping the radio waves through my body, I should be able to convert the frequency modulated signal into any amplitude of audible frequencies I want to.
