Coleman’s FlashCell
Coleman’s FlashCell: Yes, a Cordless Screwdriver That Really Charges in 90 Seconds - Popular Mechanics
We’ve tested this cordless screwdriver, and in this case, the truth is stranger than any hype. The $90 FlashCell doesn’t use a new kind of lithium-ion cell, or a trusty nickel-cadmium battery, or even ancient lead-acid technology. This bizarre device doesn’t use any batteries at all—it’s powered by a capacitor
I want one! I have been in the market for a small power screwdriver for a while now, but I don’t wanna get one that I know is gonna crap out, especially because I won’t use it all the time, but I want it to work when I need it.
Supercapaciters are really awesome and I would love it if more things had them in it, like say, car remotes that charged when you put them in the ignition, but had much more power than the crappy battery and could send the signal much further.
