Popcorn Lung
Food: Microwave Popcorn Makers Vow To Remove Diacetyl
Although there has been one consumer case of “popcorn lung,” there’s no real danger to consumers who don’t eat microwave popcorn several times a day. The real concern is for those people who work in popcorn plants. Soon, however, you’ll be able to eat your popcorn totally guilt-free. We’d hate to see that nifty “popcorn” button go unused on your microwave.
I don’t eat popcorn that often, but the last bag of microwave popcorn I did eat said do not use the popcorn button on the microwave. Is there some sort of secret lobby of people to put buttons on microwaves that another secret lobby of people is against people using?
Why would you say “don’t use the popcorn button” ?
If the microwave manufacturers know that people are being told not to use the button, why are they still putting the button there?
Who is right?! Who should I believe about the proper way to microwave popcorn?!
