MAKE: Blog: Build a heat-driven monitor spinner
Member funnypolynomial built a very simple, heat driven motor that sits atop an LCD monitor bezel. It’s actual a revision of an earlier design for use with CRTs -
I made one, using the PDF with 20 spinner templates on it.
I tried to embed a video of it spinning on [...]

USDA announces biggest meat recall in U.S. history - Slashfood
That’s not a typo. It really is 143 million pounds. It’s the largest meat recall in U.S. history. The beef comes from the Westland/Hallmark Meat Company and goes back to February 1, 2006. The USDA says that cattle at the California factory was mistreated and that [...]

I have a final at 8am for a class that I have yet to learn anything from. I feel worse off after having taken the class. I played some stupid bubble breaker game one class for 45 minutes and I honestly felt more productive than paying attention.
We are allowed to bring 2 sheets (4 sides) [...]

Olympic Lanes Bowling Center - Rochester, NY - AMF Bowling
We went bowling last night at around 11:15, because we had things we were doing earlier, and because the website said they were open until 2am.
We get there, bowl a bit, then go to the snack bar to get a snack. All the lights were on, [...]

People say I can be un-nice as a person. It may be true, but its not entirely my fault. I refuse to be the only one viewed as a bad person.
If we are friends, then we get to make jokes about each other, because we are friends and we know we are kidding. [...]

I listen to alot of music, but lately it has been mostly country music.
I listened to Sugarland - Stay every day driving to and from work. At 3 minutes into the song I always would start singing louder and feeling stronger. I didn’t actually know the song was from the point of the mistress until [...]

The Spiderwick Chronicles (2008)
We went to see The Spiderwick Chronicles last night at the Tinseltown IMAX at 9pm. Apparently it was not a popular time to go to the movies, because the 4 people in my group had the entire theater to ourselves. 12,000 watts of audio, 10 stories of screen, all just for us.
We [...]

So I have a dilemma, the dilemma of the thrifty environmentalist.
I have an electric toothbrush that I bought at my dentist’s office for 5 bucks. That gets me the batteries and brush and everything. After a while, the brush head needs to be replaced. At Wegmans, 3 replacement brush heads cost $20. Add to that [...]

I like my numbers how I like my numbers.
Right now I am listening to music at volume 39, because 9 is 3 times 3. 33 would also be acceptable, as is 35 because its a multiple of 5, 36 is sorta acceptable because 6 is twice 3.
31, 32, 34, 37, and 38 are all non-preferred [...]

Jumper (2008)
Kevin and I went to see Jumper last night. I liked it a lot. There was a decent story, most of the action was pretty awesome, the special effects were perfect, and Hayden Christensen is easy on the eyes. Rachel Bilson ( Summer from The OC) had a strange role, I think its just [...]

Flickr: Photos from tinfoilsoldier
I randomly take pictures with my cellphone and e-mail them to my flickr account.
I doubt you would recognize me on the mountain even if you know what I look like. Jake was with me that day, but he made me remove the picture I took of him cause well, it was bad.

I tell my friends everything and anything. I can’t keep secrets about myself for long. Whether or not they wanna know, I will tell them, forget and tell them again (wink wink).
One of the reasons I tell people my secrets for strength in resolution.
When people know, there are no go backs
It can’t be [...]
