numbers

I like my numbers how I like my numbers.

Right now I am listening to music at volume 39, because 9 is 3 times 3.  33 would also be acceptable, as is 35 because its a multiple of 5, 36 is sorta acceptable because 6 is twice 3.

31, 32, 34, 37, and 38 are all non-preferred numbers in the 30’s.

The higher you go, the less preferred numbers there are to choose from.

I don’t like to run on the treadmill at ugly speeds either, but I make exceptions in the interest of exercise.  I don’t use odd numbered resistance levels or cross plane heights on the elliptical machines either because they are all less than 20.

I don’t know why I like nice looking numbers, but I do.

Does anyone else out there prefer multiples of 5, or numbers where the second number is a multiple of the first digit?

  • I only like the odd multiples of five. But I’m also partial toward happy numbers. Sometimes I like palindrome numbers… but only the pretty ones.

  • what is a happy number?

    I guess I didn’t even think about palindromes, I was mostly thinking about # < 100.

I do like palindromes as well, as long as they are aesthetically pleasing

  • A happy number: Take the sum of the square of each digit, then repeat for each subsequent answer. If it simplifies to 1 it is a happy number, if it doesn’t it is an unhappy number.
