Hans Reiser Guilty

Hans Reiser Guilty of First Degree Murder | Threat Level from Wired.com
OAKLAND, California — Jurors found Linux programmer Hans Reiser guilty of first degree murder on Monday, concluding he killed his estranged wife in 2006. The verdict followed a nearly six-month trial and nearly three days of deliberation

I know the situation might seem like he was a bad guy, but I don’t think so. I think he was just a super nerd in the wrong place at the wrong time. People that smart ARE that weird; its just how it works. I just think I am scared of the idea that they can find him guilty without any physical evidence that she is hurt or dead, just missing. Sure, he could be that smart and figured out a way to hide all of the evidence; or he could be innocent and just be that weird.

They found him guilty, not because they knew he committed a crime, but because his actions around the time period of the crime were just too damn weird and eccentric.

Either way, I think it is a definite loss for the Linux world to lose the developer of a great file system
