PA for the weekend
I went to PA for the weekend. Kevin and I had waffles Friday morning, then I got around to leaving at 11ish. The drive home was mostly uneventful, there was light rain almost the whole way.
About a mile north of PA traffic came to a sudden halt. We sat there for a while; I even turned my car off and played solitaire. Traffic was still coming in the other direction, so I’m still not entirely certain what happened. Eventually (maybe 10-15 minutes? later) a big rig with a huge over sized load went by and then we started moving again.
The rest of the trip was essentially me in a car listening to music. I stopped at Sheets on Maynard St. in Williamsport, and bought a MTO turkey sub for 2.42$ which I thought was a pretty good deal. In PA, there are a ton of gas stations that have Made To Order stations. There are touch screens that have a “click through” style menu, and you just pick whatever you want, with whatever options you want, and then it will print out the order for them behind the counter and they make it for you. I had a 6″ turkey sub on wheat w/ tomato, banana peppers, green peppers, pickles, lettuce and mustard. It was on special for 1.99$, but I had to pay 0.29$ extra for pepperjack cheese. Definitely worth it.
One of my favorite things to get MTO’d from Sheets is the Sheets’ Schmuffin. Egg McMuffin, but ~1$ cheaper and you can get it made awesome with pepperjack cheese, salsa, green peppers, tomato, etc. Now that is the best egg sandwich you can get on the road.
Friday night, watched The Brave One with my parents, great movie. Jodie Foster is a great bad ass.
Saturday I waxed my car, that took forever.
Sunday dinner with extended family @ a family style restaurant buffet. Awesome crab cakes with hardly any breading to hold them together. They also had crab legs, but I really just see those as too much work.
Drove back after dinner. Nice drive for the most part.
I set my cruise control at 75, and while I know its probably more like 72-73 because the “you are going this fast ##” signs always tell me less than my speedo says. But anyway.
I have cruise control, and I use it. People who ride my ass, then pass me, only to have me need to pass them in a minute or two piss me off. Especially if they get really really close behind me. I am not going to go any faster because they all of a sudden decided they wanted to go faster than me and the car next to me that I am working on passing. I passed them 5 minutes ago, the road is still flat, they are still stupid. So they are right on my bumper for a bit, then I pass the car on the right so I get over. They pass me, but then they slow down, so end up passing them again. They ride my ass again, I break check them, they back off, I get over, and they fly by me never to be seen again. When people pass me after something like that, I love to just look straight ahead and not acknowledge them passing me. I think it pisses them off even more.
