Tin Foil Soldier

Last night I finally stained my entertainment center. Kevin has done an awesome job building it, and last night we decided that I could say I helped make it because I paid for it and helped a little.

I almost did a coat of finish this morning, but since it only takes 2 hours between coats and I didn’t want to rush on the first one.

If Kevin finishes the drawer that goes in the center bottom today, I will stain that and the two adjustable shelves that go in to the sides when I get home from work.

I used a gel stain, which was kinda weird and I will try to take a picture of it, because it had the consistency of lumpy pudding. You apply it thick, let it sit for 3 minutes and then wipe it off. It was weird, but it turned out great and it was nice not having to worry about getting the coating perfectly even because I was just going to wipe it off anyway.

I almost did a coat of varnish or finish or whatever its called this morning, but it was early and it only takes 2 hours between coats, so I will do a couple coats tonight so it is ready to be used by Saturday when my family is coming up for graduation.
