O2 sensor
I just wanted to let everyone know that I replaced the O2 sensor on my roomate’s car yesterday. I think that I should get extra manly points for this. I did a GIS and didn’t see my picture yet, so apparently I need a few more manly points before I show up on the first page.
To be honest though, I apparently didn’t know what a catalytic converter looked like because I thought the post-cat O2 sensor was the pre-cat sensor and accidently took the wrong one out first. Of course, the pre-cat sensor was a hell of a lot harder to get to because the heat shield from the exhaust manifold was in the way.
I blame Kevin’s Saturn for my mistake though, because it has a tiny metal container, then a big metal container, and then the muffler. I didn’t think the first one was the cat because it was so small. The second one looked like what I envisioned a catalytic converter to look like.
