Dr. Bronner’s
Dr. Bronner’s: Keeping it cool! - Green Daily
There is a post about Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps on Green Daily so I felt that now is a perfect time to tell the world that I love the crazy Dr.’s soaps.
I buy the big 32oz containers of it at Lori’s Natural Foods and just refill the more portable containers for use everywhere. Wegmans also carries the liquid soaps in their “Nature’s Marketplace” section. I keep a 4oz bottle in my book bag for showers at the gym, there is a medium bottle in the shower, and I also put the magic soap along with a little bit of water in a foaming soap dispenser to use in the shower which works awesomely. I use the foamed soap to wash my face because it seems to do a better job than any of the harsh chemicals at keeping my skin clear and the foam makes the soap go further because it is already so concentrated.
I use a combination of the Tea Tree, Eucalyptus, and Peppermint liquid soaps. Personally I find bar soaps icky because they get wet and dissolve and they are a pain to transport.
Dr. Bronner’s Magic All-One soap really is an all purpose soap, especially the eucalyptus and peppermint versions. The smell of the peppermint on a hot washrag really does wake you up and leave you feeling refreshed. Plus if nothing else the bottles are COMPLETELY covered in writing which makes for great reading material.
I was first exposed to Dr. Bronner’s soaps because they are completely biodegradable and therefore make a great soap for camping / backpacking / etc. I think the first time I bought some was at the L.L. Bean store in Bangor Maine. We wandered around the huge L.L. Bean store whenever we went to Bar Harbor. I still have and wear the Tevas that I got there at least 8 years ago.
Anyway, the soap rocks and I while I am still not entirely certain where I stand on organic or even Fair trade for that matter, I do feel that Dr. Bronner’s is a company that does its best to treat the environment well while making a great product.
