Harborfest 2008
Harborfest 2008, Oswego, New York
I went to Harborfest on Satuday with Kevin and two friends. It was fun for the most part, and even walking in the pouring rain was fun in its own right. I mean, it sucked walking in the rain, but ya don’t get to do it that often so we made the best of it and had fun anyway.
We walked all over town looking for some girl that one of the guys knew a long time ago. She kept changing location, then we would have to walk somewhere else ridiculously far away to try to meet her. This is while it was pouring.
Food was good, had a sausage, then a huge burger. I wanted “ribbon fries” but I never got around to getting them. They looked essentially like someone took a potato, and made chips by spinning it on a blade instead of slicing individual pieces like a normal chip. Deep fry until kinda crispy, and viola!
Beer selection was kinda crappy, and I personally hate drinking out of cans, but such is life.
Which leaves the fireworks. I don’t really get that excited by fireworks generally, but they were well done @ Harborfest. There were launching platforms set up all along the lake’s breakwater, and there was a barge out there with tons of mortars and what not as well.
We gave up on taking the free bus back to the parking lot and just walked, which probably turned out to be faster just because there were so many people there waiting to get onto the buses, and because there were so many people walking in the roads that its not like the buses were going anywhere fast anyway.
