Unpacking

The worst part, I think, about moving is the unpacking.  We have a 2 car garage filled with stuff, a living room filled with stuff, and a kitchen with cabinets that I just did the final coat of paint on today which means we can’t put stuff in them for 2-3 days.

Anyway, I get sidetracked alot in my unpacking, something like this:

  1. Go to garage and get box to put away
  2. grab the box of laundry stuff
  3. take it downstairs, but laundry room isn’t ready
  4. move gas dryer out into open area to get rid of.
  5. hook up the dryer, had to move outlet lower so cord would reach
  6. hook up the washer, but missing a washer for the hot water faucet side.
  7. start to put stuff away, cabinets are gonna need cleaned.
  8. the counter down there is dirty, gonna need a scrubbin.
  9. go find scrub brush
  10. Looking for cleaning supplies, scrub brush is with them
  11. can’t find them, but I did find some stuff that belongs in my room so I took it there.
  12. remembered I was working in basement, gave up on the brush and scrubbed with a rag
  13. put bleach / soap / dryer sheets / etc on different shelves and such in laundry room
  14. find a small piece of hose that the previous owners probably used to hook up their washer because it has to go ever so slightly too far from the sink to use the hose built into my washer.
  15. hook up washer the rest of the way because I also found 2 spare rubber washers in the “laundry room” box.
  16. I wanna wash my sheets

Its non-stop randomness here.  I have to take breaks and do something with a definitive goal, so that I don’t feel like I haven’t accomplished anything.  I picked up all the sticks in the yard from what was left of Ike, and even though it took a while it still felt nice to accomplish something visable.
