Grown up Glasses

Generate Design | Sommelier Wine Glasses by Maxim Vel?ovský
Somewhere between college and careers, our standards of drinking cups drastically changed.

A bit of fancy cropping and it almost looks like a “normal” cup. Granted, I have always hated plastic cups of any kinds, but especially non-disposable ones; I can’t stand using them. I like [...]

Strawberry Shortcake

Yesterday Kevin and I made strawberry shortcakes to take to a party. I de-stemmed 3 quarts of strawberries, and then kevin cut them into smaller pieces while I took some of them and mushed them and added sugar to form the sauce base. We combined with the other cut up strawberries, and then [...]

Portobella Pizza

So we had a fun cooking weekend, that started out on Saturday with a trip to the Pittsford Wegmans. We were looking for garlic greens and young garlic like they used on Iron Chef America: Battle Garlic.
We went to Borders on the way, to look for a MXPX cd, as well as some other [...]

Molecular Gastronomy

blog.khymos.org
The tagline to Martin’s blog is “dedicated to molecular gastronomy” and I find it fascinating. I think I love this blog for the same reason I love Alton Brown’s Good Eats. If you know why you cook something a certain way, or what a particular ingredient does, then you can change recipes to [...]

Tea Exchange

The REPUBLIC of TEA - Exquisite Green Tea, Red Tea, White Tea, Black Tea, Oolong Tea and More.
This China green tea is luscious with the naturally sweet flavor of ripe pears and tropical tang of kiwi. A highly aromatic, healthy blend that’s refreshing on ice.

Kraft Invents The Twinkie Of Bagels: “Bagelfuls”
Ever toast, spread cream cheese on, and eat a bagel and be like, damn, this is taking too long? Then Krafts Bagelfuls, a frozen bagel tube with cream cheese already inside, are for you.
Sounds super healthy!

Its so disgusting that I just had to tell you about it.

Meat Recall

USDA announces biggest meat recall in U.S. history - Slashfood
That’s not a typo. It really is 143 million pounds. It’s the largest meat recall in U.S. history. The beef comes from the Westland/Hallmark Meat Company and goes back to February 1, 2006. The USDA says that cattle at the California factory was mistreated and that [...]

Britain tops fast-food league, as world obesity grows: study - Yahoo News
Britons are the worlds biggest fans of fast food, just ahead of Americans, while famously gastronomic French are the least attracted by quick meals, according to a study published Wednesday.
I have been really watching what I eat lately, as well as going to the [...]
